
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is the curriculum used in early years from birth to age 5. In September 2012 we began to use a revised curriculum, this was again revised in 2014 and again in 2021, with more focus on what matters most to young children in their early years. The framework also sets out the legal welfare requirements that everyone registered to look after young children must follow to keep children safe.
There are 7 areas of Learning and Development, which guide staff and ensure that your child is reaching their full potential.

- Personal, social and emotional development
As your child grows, the prime areas will help your child to develop skills in 4 specific areas which are;
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the world
- Expressive arts and design
